What should I wear to class?
While our dress code is not terribly "strict", we do ask that our students follow it both for their safety and to assist in the learning process.
A complete list of class dress codes can be found in our policies and procedures handbook which is available at the front desk. The basics are as follows:
Ballet: Tights and leotard of any color. Pink ballet shoes- made of either leather or canvas.
Tap: Black tap shoes. Tights, leotard, shorts if desired.
Jazz: Black jazz shoes. Tights, leotard, jazz pants if desired.
Hip Hop: Clean tennis shoes that have not been worn outside. Any clothes that comfortably permit movement.
Lyrical: Nude colored foot undies. Tights, leotard, shorts or skirt if desired.
Dance Ministry: Nude colored foot undies. Any clothes that comfortably permit movement.
Please remember to be modest in your clothing selections.

What kind of costumes do your students wear at recital?
We dress students age appropriately to encourage modesty. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. Teachers will always be happy to show you the costume before it is ordered.

Can I stay and watch classes?
Absolutely! We love having a family environment at the studio. Each of our studios has either a viewing window or a live feed camera that can be watched from the front lobby. We do ask that all siblings and family members that come are considerate of the environment and observe quietly.

What kind of performance opportunities do you have?
We offer a variety of performance opportunities. All of our classes perform at our yearly recital in May. At Christmas, each class has either an open class or a performance in the community. We also offer a Christmas benefit showcase called "Awaken" where older students can perform solos, duets, or trios. Dancers in level 2 or 3 classes can also participate in Dream Company which is an educational touring company that performs for local schools and for the community.

How do you handle missed classes?
If we cancel class due to teacher illness, a make-up class will be offered. If the student misses class, they may make it up in a class of the same level if available. If classes are canceled for weather, no make-up will be offered. We are able to pro-rate classes for you if you plan to be absent for an extended period of time; please let us know at least two weeks in advance.

How does your leveling system work?
Dancers ages 2-7 are placed in classes based on age. Once dancers reach age 8, we place them in classes according to their level of technique. New students age 8 and up may need to meet with a teacher for assessment before being placed in classes.

What kind of teachers do you have?
Whether in dance, art, theatre, or music, you can expect that your student will be taught by caring, dedicated instructors who will challenge and encourage them. Our teachers are hired based on their teaching experience, education and certifications, and their love for teaching and serving the Lord.

What can I expect my student to learn in class?
We want each of our students to learn great technique, develop a love for the arts, and grow in the knowledge of who they are in Christ.

Will my student miss out on classes if we sign up for a Monday class?
No. We do our best to plan a schedule in which all days of the week get equal amounts of classes for the year. We are open for many of the one day holidays such as Presidents Day and MLK Day.

Can boys take any of your classes?
Yes! We welcome boys in all of our classes- including dance, theatre, music, and art.
